Yesterday Matt and I went and had a small session with NatalieRenaePhotography for a few engagement photos to use for the save the dates. I can't wait to send them out!!! It was really cold out so we got it done really fast and I think the photos turned out really well, I can't wait to see the finished product! Everyone have a Merry Christmas!

First Check!!!!

We have our first check, last Friday we booked our venue! We LOVE the Jazz Hall of Fame and can't wait to share this special day with everyone! We also have a huge change, our date!!!! We are no longer getting married on October 20th but now June 16th!!! We are just shy of 6 months to plan our wonderful wedding!!! Matt and I couldn't be anymore excited! Thursday we have our pre-engagement photos, now we just need to figure out what to wear. I can't wait to share the rest of our checks with everyone!!

Getting the ball rolling.

Last Friday Matt and I went to my aunts house to work with my two cousins Amy and Casey to get some things organized so we can get planning going. We went to look at a venue yesterday, Jazz Hall of Fame. We love it, just worried about having a turn over but its so beautiful I don't even care. Next Thursday we have pre-engagement photos so we can get our save the dates done and out by the first of the year!!! Yay!!! Ready to marry my best friend!!!!

Wedding Shows

I went to a wedding show at the River Spirit Casino two weekends ago. My mom and I just went this time becasue it was a smaller one. We walked around and got a bunch of new information along with some I already had. There was a DJ company there that I haven't heard of, they were really nice but kinda pushy. Well I gave them my information thinking they wouldn't call because no one else really has. Well they called a couple of days later while I was working out, which was fine at first but then they tried to get me to set up an appointment and I told them it would have to be this summer because my fiance and I both go to school out of town, well then he asked what school I went to, so I told him. Then he started telling me that they have a worker that drives to different areas and that he would pass my number to him so when he is in Joplin he can call so I can meet with them. After that I was getting really annoyed and told him my fiance goes to a different school and that it would have to be after this summer. Finally he said okay I will make a note of this. While all of this was going on I was still working out, and out of breath but he finally let me go and I haven't heard from them again. I will be ready to hear from them the first day of summer I am sure! haha

I have a wedding show again this Sunday at the Hard Rock Casino, I am really excited about it becasue I am really looking into doing my reception there if the prices are good. I hope I have a good time, I am sure I will becasue anything wedding puts me into a good mood!

Matt and I have been eating healthy and working out when we aren't busy with school. All of Matt's clothes are looking big on him and I am very proud of him!!! I have gone down one pant size and hope to keep it up!

Location

About a month ago I went to the Tulsa Wedding show and got a lot of information for a bunch of different locations, photographers, and anything else you can think of for a wedding. I was so over whelmed with information but it was so neat to see all the decor and different companies that wanted to be apart of my wedding. It was so great sharing my first wedding experience with two of my bridesmaids and my mom and I can't wait to share even more amazing times with them.

The first thing I have been worried about is finding the right place! I really want both the ceremony and reception at the same place so no one has to worry about driving somewhere else! The day after the Tulsa Wedding Show they had some locations open for people to visit. My mom, brother and I went and visited two different places. The first place we went to visit was the Jazz Hall of Fame, you can hold both the ceremony and reception here, but my mom wants me to get married in a chapel or a church. When we walked into the reception room I was in awe because it was what I had always pictured. It was a huge room with a stage and it was just amazing. I left there saying it was the place. We then went to the next place, Vesica Piscis Chapel, I also call it the double ring Chapel. This space also hold both the ceremony and reception but I was not very pleased with the reception place. It just felt like a white room with some tables set up. When I walked into the chapel and then down the isle I started crying. I knew this was the kind of place I wanted to get married in. Then my mind went back to the Jazz Hall, but its to far away from each other to use both places. I have been trying to find a reception place near the double ring chapel and so far all I have found is the hard rock casino. They have beautiful pictures online I can't wait to see it in person. Everything is up in the air I am still looking for a chapel or church downtown to use if I pick the Jazz Hall and their is still a few other places I would like to check into. I cant wait to figure out the place so I can start picturing everything for our special place.

The Engagement

Matt had asked me to take some pictures at Woodward park that weekend  for his mom, so of course being the kind of person I am I started wondering if this could be it! So I made sure I painted my nails and picked out a cute shirt. Matt and I got up the morning of and headed to the park I started getting really nervous and tried checking his pockets to see if there was a ring in his pocket. I couldn't see a ring and we started taking pictures and he hadn't asked yet. Then I started thinking it wasn't going to happen and this is when we started heading towards this beautiful bridge and the person taking the photos handed Matt the ring without me knowing. We got up on the bridge and took a few photos and I just kept posing, then  I was told to turn around and look at Matt. He was down on one knee and I starting shaking. Matt then told me how much he loved me and some other things I can't remember because I was in such shock. Then  he asked me to marry him, and I said YES!!!!! We took a few more pictures and headed home to find out that we had a small engagement party waiting for us with our close family members.

We have picked our wedding date!

We really didn't want a summer or hot wedding so that put April- September out of the question. We also didn't want it around any holidays so November- January were out. February has both our birthday and Valentines day, so again that wasn't the right month.  That leaves March or October. We then looked at all the weekends and choose one in October. 

Our Colors

I have always loved these beautiful orchids that I saw a few years ago they are a dark purple and dark blue, which is where our colors are from. I have been leaning towards the bridesmaids wearing dark purple, but everything could change when I go shopping for their dresses. I also wants hints of pink and white!
